From Knowing to Doing: Putting Team Insight Into Practice

At a certain point in every organization’s journey, gathering information is no longer the challenge. Your team likely already knows where things stand. You know where communication gets sticky, where processes cause daily friction, or where priorities have quietly shifted over time.

The question that remains is simple: What happens next?

Earlier this year, we explored Purpose, Process, Plan, Alignment, and Recalibration. Each conversation offered a chance to look honestly at how our teams function and what we experience along the way. August gave us a moment to step back and take stock of those insights.

Now, as September arrives and the pace picks up, comes the next step: putting what we know into practice. Bridging the gap between awareness and action doesn't require a sweeping overhaul.

More often, it starts with small, intentional shifts:

  • Moving from naming a communication gap to having the conversation you’ve been putting off.

  • Moving from noticing a broken process to sitting down and making a single adjustment.

  • Moving from acknowledging drift to gently pulling the work back into alignment.

Healthy teams don't need to respond perfectly to every challenge. They simply need to be willing to act on what they’re learning—whether that means asking a better question, shifting a daily practice, or letting go of something that no longer serves the work.

Awareness is the start, but action is where growth takes root.

As we step into September, here is a good place to begin with your team:

What do you already know—and what are you ready to do about it?
