What Healthy Teams Know

Over the past several months, DMR Consulting Group has explored Purpose, Process, Plan, (re)Alignment, and Recalibration—five ideas that shape how healthy teams understand their work, their relationships, and their direction.
August offers an opportunity to pause in th
at progression and consider what these conversations have revealed.
Healthy teams know that purpose needs to be revisited. It is easy to become focused on the work itself and lose sight of why the work matters.

Healthy teams know that process matters. The way work gets done affects people's experience of the work. When something consistently creates frustration or confusion, it is worth paying attention to.
Healthy teams know that plans can change. Circumstances shift. Priorities change. Sometimes the right response is to adjust the plan rather than force reality to fit it.
Healthy teams know that (re)alignment takes attention. Teams drift. People change. Organizations grow. What matters is whether the team is willing to notice and respond.
And healthy teams know that adjustment isn't failure. Sometimes it is simply evidence that a team is paying attention and responding to what it has learned.
These ideas build on one another.
They are also a useful way to revisit the conversations DMR Consulting Group has shared throughout the year. For those who are new to the work, the previous posts offer an opportunity to explore each idea more fully. For those who have been following along, August is a chance to consider what has stayed with you.
As September approaches, the focus will shift from remembering what healthy teams know to putting those ideas into practice.
For now, there is value in simply taking stock of what has already been learned. Sometimes moving forward begins by recognizing what we already know.
Clarity grows through intentional reflection.
